SO MANY MIRACLES BUT SO LITTLE TIME!

Week 51, Transfer 8 Area: Auburn (Auburn 2nd Ward) Compañera: Hermana Griffin Read the subject line! I typed fast lol. The Lord's hand has been SO easy to spot this week!!! Quick rundown of friends and highlights this week... ALEX: Knocked her door with perfect timing, has been looking to strengthen her relationship with God. Came to our ward activity on Saturday, homie-d it up with some members, felt suuuuper welcome, asked for a church tour, and midway through us standing in the chapel talking about the sacrament and the meeting, she cuts us off and says, "So if I were to get baptized into this church, where would it be?" Dubs. She came to church the next day and turned to us after Relief Society (after she, of her own free will, raised her hand and made like five comments during the class) and said, "I have never felt as much joy in my life as I do right now." PLEASE PRAY FOR ALEX! JOANA: She's the CUTEST teenage girl we're teaching and has the sweete...

A Functional... Ward?

Week 50, Transfer 8 Area: Auburn (Auburn 2nd Ward) Compañera: Hermana Griffin Anyone who makes it to the end of this email deserves a fist bump in six months. Highlights: First week in Auburn! It is a crazy busy area! I asked my mission president for one thing this transfer—to go somewhere where I could just work. And boy, did I get my wish! Three people just got baptized recently and all got confirmed yesterday! The gift of the Holy Ghost is such a blessing! We made the goal to put seven people on date this transfer. Your prayers for the people in our area and for us would be much appreciated! The ward is so... put together here! Everyone just knows what to do and... does it? I never thought I'd be able to serve in a ward because after the mission split last summer, the only Spanish ward got put into the Sacramento boundaries. But here we are in Auburn, integrated with the ward, doing translation every Sunday, trying to start a Spanish group! The Lord's truth is marching on! H...

Week 49, Transfer 7 Area: Yuba City (Tierra Buena Branch) Compañera: Hermana Park TRANSFER NEWS CAME! I'm leaving Yuba and going to Auburn with Hermana Griffin! It's where I was supposed to be trained when I started my mission, but last-minute impressions sent me to Corning and two seasoned hermanas to Auburn, where the work progressed like crazy. They opened the area that transfer and are trying to start a branch! I'm so excited to be there! Our area in Yuba is getting whitewashed, though, but don't fear, Hermana Park will still be near! She's going to Lincoln, and we'll be in the same district there. Highlights: More pouring rain this week, but the work goes on! COOL NEW PEOPLE FOUND! Lilian, Christian, Juan, and Maria! Alisa's baptism. Not into our ward, but Alisa is incredible. Our district leader and his companion received a social media referral for her at the end of last transfer. After going through a hard time, she remembered how wonderful meeting w...

Week 48, Transfer 7 Area: Yuba City (Tierra Buena Branch) Compañera: Hermana Park Disclaimer: I fully admit that I copy-pasted Hermana Park's email that she sent out. Anything in parentheses was added by me. Haha. Sorry it's a little long. Enjoy. Hola familia y amigos! Sorry this email is so late, but I have another extended p-day because we went to a Catholic funeral today! I'll explain more about that later, but let's jump into the highlights of the week! Highlights: Knocking in the rain! It rained like every day this week, but the work plugs on, so we knocked in the rain! I'm not a huge fan of the rain (this is where we are different—I, Hermana Ellis, love the rain), but the joy of the work helps me to just get out there and do it, rain or shine, so it was great! We didn't find a ton of people, but that's okay. God's got a plan for them and for this area! (We did find an inactive member from one of the English wards in the area and were able to share ...
