SO MANY MIRACLES BUT SO LITTLE TIME!
Week 51, Transfer 8
Area: Auburn (Auburn 2nd Ward)
Compañera: Hermana Griffin
Read the subject line! I typed fast lol. The Lord's hand has been SO easy to spot this week!!! Quick rundown of friends and highlights this week...
ALEX: Knocked her door with perfect timing, has been looking to strengthen her relationship with God. Came to our ward activity on Saturday, homie-d it up with some members, felt suuuuper welcome, asked for a church tour, and midway through us standing in the chapel talking about the sacrament and the meeting, she cuts us off and says, "So if I were to get baptized into this church, where would it be?" Dubs. She came to church the next day and turned to us after Relief Society (after she, of her own free will, raised her hand and made like five comments during the class) and said, "I have never felt as much joy in my life as I do right now." PLEASE PRAY FOR ALEX!
JOANA: She's the CUTEST teenage girl we're teaching and has the sweetest soul. Met with her this week planning to talk about priesthood authority and why baptisms in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are different and more... eternal than other churches. But she pulls up this scripture she FOUND and studied herself this week that literally talked all about the priesthood and authority of God. Great conversation about that, and before we could even bring up baptism, she goes, "What do I have to do to be baptized into this church?" ...Long story short, she's currently praying about being baptized on March 15th!!!! PLEASE PRAY FOR JOANA!!
MIGUEL: Somehow, one of us mentioned the Ten Commandments while talking about the sacrament, and he was like, "Wait, what is that?" Come to find out, the only commandment he consciously remembered/knew about was to keep the Sabbath day holy. We were able to read the Ten Commandments together, and the expression of pure and absolute JOY that was on his face is something I will never forget. He told us that it was basically life-changing to know what God has asked us to do and the guidance He's given us to help us stay away from sin. PLEASE PRAY FOR MIGUEL!!
D&C 123:12 truly came to life for me that day—"For there are many yet on the earth among all sects, parties, and denominations, who are blinded by the subtle craftiness of men, whereby they lie in wait to deceive, and who are only kept from the truth because they know not where to find it."
—And so many more... (We also ate a lot of good food this week and saw lots of pretty sunsets.)
Spiritual thought
Go get some popcorn, chips, and ice cream, and go watch the movie The Cokeville Miracle tonight as your own personal spiritual thought, and then think about how you can see the Lord's hand/miracles in your own life, whether they are as big as the one in this movie or as small and simple as a pretty sunset or something else during your day. We watched this movie as part of our district P-day activity. It's such a POWERFUL movie. It's really sad at some parts, and you'll probably cry, but at the end, you'll feel the Spirit and see how the Lord works miracles to both save and strengthen people and bring His precious ones back into the fold.
QUE TENGA UNA BUENA SEMANA!!
