Week 4 - "Wanna See My Car?"

Image
Hola amigos y familia, P-day always goes by way too fast. Friday We went to the temple! We were able to do an endowment session. It was super powerful to be there surrounded by so many missionaries and closer friends. We also started FULL SPANISH IMMERSION TODAY!!!!! Now, all of our classes are in Spanish. It's been so hard, but so rewarding. The gift of tongues is so, so real. God knows our needs, abilities, and limitations. Saturday Service day! We helped clean one of the common areas in one of the buildings at the MTC. I'm a professional mopper now. We also learned that some of us have sensitive stomachs, and some are unashamed of it, haha. Sunday At the MTC, we do something called "Go and do." It's basically an extra-long personal study period, which might sound crazy, but it's actually one of the most meaningful experiences missionaries have in the MTC. We usually have a topic of focus, or we can study whatever we want and then come together as a district...

Area: Provo Missionary Training Center (MTC) Companions: Hermana Lamb and Hermana Park Hola amigos y familia! So I have definitely been a missionary for 3 weeks now and have yet to send an email, so I apologize for that. But I am indeed alive and thriving! Here's a brief recap: March 4th-March 13th: Home MTC! It was day after day of class after class of getting hit with a spiritual fire hose. It was awesome. I'm in a trio (meaning I have 2 other companions instead of 1, which is usually how many there are in a companionship) and my companionship and district bonded super quickly even over zoom classes. They are all spiritual GIANTS! I love them all so much! March 13th to now: "You say goodbye to your own family for 18 months so you can teach other families how to be together forever." To me, that makes the sacrifice worth it. Every day here has been a blur. Every second seems to be jam-packed with learning or studying or eating haha. We have a similar schedule every d...

Setting Apart Commentary And Blessing

Image
President Wilkes comments before setting you apart:   You will be set apart as a missionary of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. You will have authority anywhere on the earth, so if the plane crashes between here and Roseville, CA, just get out and start preaching the Gospel, because you have authority to do that.    Here’s the scripture I wanted to share with you: [D&C 112:4-13]  “Let thy heart be of good cheer before thy face; and thou shalt bear record of my name, not only unto the Gentiles but also unto the Jews; and thou shall send forth my word unto the ends of the earth. Contend thou, therefore, morning by morning; and day after day let thy warning voice go forth; and when the night cometh let not the inhabitants of the earth slumber, because of thy speech. Let thy habitation be known in Zion and remove not thy house; for I, the Lord, have a great work for thee to do, in publishing my name among the children of men. Therefore, gird up thy lo...
