Week 1, 2, And 3 - "I Have Diabetes." "I'm Sorry."

Area: Provo Missionary Training Center (MTC)

Companions: Hermana Lamb and Hermana Park

Hola amigos y familia! So I have definitely been a missionary for 3 weeks now and have yet to send an email, so I apologize for that. But I am indeed alive and thriving! Here's a brief recap:

March 4th-March 13th: Home MTC!
It was day after day of class after class of getting hit with a spiritual fire hose. It was awesome. I'm in a trio (meaning I have 2 other companions instead of 1, which is usually how many there are in a companionship) and my companionship and district bonded super quickly even over zoom classes. They are all spiritual GIANTS! I love them all so much!

March 13th to now:
"You say goodbye to your own family for 18 months so you can teach other families how to be together forever." To me, that makes the sacrifice worth it.

Every day here has been a blur. Every second seems to be jam-packed with learning or studying or eating haha. We have a similar schedule every day but it's always so different with what we learn in classes and in studies and what we do during our breaks. I've also never consistently gotten more sleep than I have in the last 2 weeks while also somehow never being more tired. It's awesome.

But the best part? No matter what we're doing, the focus is always on Jesus Christ. Whether we're in class learning about Him, in practice lessons teaching about Him, or in studies, devotionals, conversations, meetings, district discussions, etc. feeling His love, the spirit is always here. I think I could count on one hand the times I haven't felt the spirit this week, which is INSANE. Someone said this week that one purpose of the MTC is to help us as missionaries t

Granted, the MTC is a very special, dedicated environment set apart for this purpose--feeling the spirit, but I KNOW that as each of us move Christ closer and closer to the center of our own lives and in our own homes, the spirit and love of God will dwell in abundance there as well.

So this week I invite you to find one way to invite Christ into your life just a little but more. All this means is that we look for the good and invite more goodness into our everyday and especially into your home. This is anything from taking a moment to appreciate the sunset at night, or opening your scriptures for even just a few minutes this week. I know that as you find the smallest and simplest ways to actively seek out good things and bring them into your life and your home that you WILL be happier and feel more peace as you diligently do so.

Study the scripture below as you think about how you organize your home and life to be able to invite goodness and peace into it more this week! I would love to hear about how you saw goodness in your life this week, or if you need help recognizing it. Love you all!

Doctrine and Covenants 109:7-8
7 ...seek ye out of the best books words of wisdom, seek learning even by study and also by faith;
8 Organize yourselves; prepare every needful thing, and establish a house, even a house of prayer, a house of fasting, a house of faith, a house of learning, a house of glory, a house of order, a house of God;
9 That your incomings may be in the name of the Lord, that your outgoings may be in the name of the Lord, that all your salutations may be in the name of the Lord, with uplifted hands unto the Most High

Subject line explanation:
We had a sub, Hermano Garcia--a native Spanish speaker from Chile--in one of our classes so we were doing a get to know you game and sharing fun facts about ourselves. One of the Hermanas said "I have an autoimmune disorder," and the sub said, "Ohh!" (He was very excited about it), but one of the Elders said, "I have diabetes," and Hermano Garcia said, very solemnly, "I'm sorry."

Pictures!
-last day of HMTC on zoom
-lots of pictures of my district, the Hermanas y mi compañeras.
-our temple trips from this week and last! So cool we get the opportunity to do all of the ordinances in the temple while we're in the MTC--it's amazing!
