God Is Cooking!!

Week 59, Transfer 9
Area: Auburn (Auburn 2nd Ward & Spanish group!!!)
Compañera: Hermana Griffin

This week was INSANE! God is cooking.

Talked to EVERYONE and their MOM (literally) this week because it's getting darker later (so we can be outside for longer!!!) and the weather is better so people are spending more time outside. This, some new finding methods, epic referrals from the English missionaries, and LOTS of Heavenly help led us to find 7 new friends to teach this week AND almost the same amount of people who are interested in meeting with us as we have number of people we're currently actively teaching!!

Our members here are AMAZING. We had 6 lessons where members participated. They always bring such a good spirit, insights, and experiences that we as 20-year-old missionaries oftentimes just can't relate to that ultimately help our friends a ton.

Found an epic guy named Jorge who told us he wants us to come back and teach his ENTIRE family (him, his wife, his 4 sons and their families) before we even introduced ourselves to him.

Told one of our friends that she'll be able to see her animalitos again and she started crying.

Found out someone I found on Facebook almost a year ago who lives in another mission's boundaries and was originally interested in English class accepted the invitation to be baptized, as well as did his family!!!!

There's a nice guy who runs an elote cart in the Hispanic neighborhood in Auburn, so we FINALLY had time to stop by. It was both mine and Hna Griffin's first time eating elote! Solid 7.5/10.

Also ate dulce de almendras for the first time with our friend Doris. Taste 7/10. Texture 2.5/10...

Had stake conference this week!! At the same time and building as our normal Sunday services (the other missionaries know how nice that is haha). A lot of our friends said they were gonna come... but no one pulled up.

Us and the Elders were in charge of setting up the net for voleibol this week... it took us like 40 minutes to figure it out.

Notable Quotes:
Hna Griffin after realizing we hit our goal for new people to teach for the day: When we prayerfully set goals and then act in faith, God provides. And sometimes He overprovides because He's like, "Bruh, I was gonna cook way more than you thought I was."

Stake President Juarez explaining the game Squash in the middle of stake conference: It's giving... raquetball.

Hna Ellis while making a quesadilla: I really want a grilled cheese.
Hna Griffin: For an hermana, a quesadilla IS a grilled cheese.

Sister Johnson (one of our STL's): Take pee breaks and bash!

Hna Griffin explaining poor logic for getting a priesthood blessing: I've already broken my foot, might as well push me off a building because I'm getting a blessing later anyway. (She didn't actually break her foot.)

Hna Griffin: I have a question that could be concerning, conversational, or funny.
Hna Ellis: That sounds like apples to apples and I like it.
