Family and friends,
What a joy this mission has been! To wear my Savior's name on my chest every day has been the biggest blessing I've ever received. I've had amazing companions, incredible mission leaders, and gotten to know the best people ever! I could write a novel containing each time the Lord's hand has been presented in the work and in my life, all the miracles, changed hearts I've seen, and pure joy that I've been blessed to experience, but I'll spare you from that 1000 page excerpt today and share a tidbit of what I've learned being out here.
I've come to know throughout my mission that Jesus is the Christ. He died for us and rose again so that we can find light to break free from sin and hope to confront our trials. He loves us more than we can comprehend. His hand is extended ALWAYS!
God has a plan for us! His Plan of Salvation truly is a plan for not only our salvation, but for our exaltation. Through His Son Jesus Christ, He's made it possible for us to live in His presence again and with our families for eternity.
The Book of Mormon is the word of God. Peace, light, knowledge, and pure testimony of Jesus Christ are found within it. It was translated by the power of God through Joseph Smith.
One of my most favorite things to have been able to testify of on my mission has been that of the restoration of the priesthood power. This power by which the Book of Mormon was translated is the SAME power that Jesus Christ Himself held and exercised when He was on the earth. The miracles He performed, things He taught, church He established was all brought to pass through this priesthood power, which, simply put, is the power of God. And God allows us to have a part of that power to direct, guide, and bless our homes, families, and the church as a whole. It's a mind-blowing concept that is very near and dear to my heart!!
The temple is the house of the Lord. It's through this priesthood power, the power of God, that inside temples we can make covenants that last for eternity and help families to be able to live together forever through the sealing power. Undeniable peace is found within the walls of the Lord's temples. It truly is like a piece of heaven on earth. Being able to go to the temple weekly or more is a blessing that I took for granted before the mission living in the middle of it all in Utah, but am so excited to continue to do it!
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is true! One of the most precious things I've learned on my mission is just how much weight that sentence carries! To know that the gospel of Jesus Christ has been restored in its fullness -- truly restored -- is the most joyful news in the entire world! I'd love to hear your thoughts on what that statement (the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the true church!) means to you. Reply to this email. I'd love to hear a piece of your testimony!
To work for a testimony in our Savior Jesus Christ and the plan God has for us, and to upkeep and continually strengthen said testimony is the greatest, yet hardest journey we can go on in this life! My final invitation over these emails is to do just that - do what is needed to strengthen and upkeep YOUR own testimony!
Keep being awesome (because you ARE awesome). I leave this little piece of my testimony and leave my witness that these things are true in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen!
