The Boonies

Week #7
Area: Olive Branch
Companion: Hermana Tingey!

I am officially in the field now! And holy cow, has this week been insane.
Our last week of the MTC simultaneously flew by and seemed to drag on forever. We had so many incredible experiences, miracles, blessings, lessons learned, memories made, etc. Elder Renlund spoke at our last devotional about covenants and temples and how important they are (spoiler alert: they are not just important but absolutely essential! Message me to learn more). It was such a powerful talk to leave off on.

We said goodbye to our MTC district this week (shoutout Élder Guthrie and Élder Jones for paving the way. Those were happy tears, I promise). Shoutout to district 27G—they all truly became my best friends and family over these last 6 weeks. Relationships rooted in Christ have an insane and unexplainable way of becoming stronger and more supportive than any other kind of relationship! I cannot wait to see all of the incredible things they do and the light that each of them will undoubtedly spread out in their missions!

Friday was my travel day. The majority of our district left Friday morning, so we woke up at 3:30 a.m. to finish packing and say goodbye to everyone. Hna Park and I were the last ones standing. Shoutout to her for her insane suitcase-zipping abilities. I couldn't have done it without you!

We got to Cali, ate some lunch, and I met my trainer, Hna Tingey! She's the coolest. We are up north in a tiny branch in Corning. Our area is huge, though. We're right in the middle of farm country, which makes my soul very happy! Tons of vineyards, lots of cows, and some of the prettiest sunrises I've ever seen. I have yet to have an actual lesson, though… every single one we've planned or attempted to go to these last 3 days has been canceled or the person hasn't been home. But the work has been awesome otherwise, and there are some incredible, Jesus-loving people up here!

Spiritual thought:
I know with every fiber of my being that God is in the very details of our lives. He is in EVERY detail of our lives. He is right there with us, and He is real, He loves us, and He knows us individually. In true Hermana Park fashion, there is a poem that comes to mind. It's called "Footprints" and is attached below.

My invitation for you all this week is to recognize the moments in which Christ has been there alongside you, when He has cheered you on, and yes, when He has carried you (even though you may have thought He'd abandoned you in the moment).

Recognize those times and express your gratitude to our loving Heavenly Father for them. As you do this and make it a consistent and sincere habit, I promise you that your life will drastically change for the better, and you will have happiness beyond belief.

¡¡Dios nos ama MUCHO!!
¡Tiene un semana increíble!
Sigue siendo impresionante
