Hola hola, qué tal??
Highlights:
We grinded this week. Tried to make every day as productive as possible. We're definitely not perfect at it by any means, but we're doing better every week, so that's a win!
Made cookies on Thursday/Friday and delivered them to inactive members, friends who were formerly taught, and some current friends! Had some super fire discussions, met some awesome people, and started teaching some friends again because of it!
Had some awesome meals with members! The 6 missionaries in our area get fed almost every night by members--it's the best! It's fun to get to know families in the English ward! (PS Mom, we had egg salad the other day and it actually wasn't terrible ;)
Hermana Tingey started a sourdough starter from scratch! And it's actually going really well! Today’s day 10 so she's gonna start making stuff with it this week. All the sisters in our house are so excited haha.
If you remember José from last week... guess what!! We lowkey put him on date for baptism this week (minus the actual date part haha. He's praying about a date this week!!). We had an insane lesson with him and talked about basically every gospel topic you could think of--he asked all the questions, it was awesome! It's still so insane to me to see how engaged someone can be in learning the gospel and having a relationship with Jesus Christ. Keep praying for him!
The gift of tongues is SO REAL!!! I was able to understand so much more Spanish this week! Accents are still hard to understand, but I'm understanding the main idea more and more often every day!
A new member, Maria, moved into our branch!! She only speaks Spanish and is super cool!
Spiritual thought:
Preach My Gospel chapter 10:
"The first few moments with people are very important. Be genuine and respectful. Show sincere interest and love. Seek to earn their trust. One way to earn trust is when people feel the Spirit with you."
This has been a major focus my whole mission so far, working towards this in every interaction. When you're with others (especially when you're meeting new people), be genuine. Be yourself. Seek to develop a genuine, Christlike love right now that is natural in everything you do so that when you meet people, how loved they are can be evident. Genuine love is arguably the most important aspect of meeting people. Prioritize that and the rest will come naturally! I invite you to implement this idea into your conversations/interactions this week!
The Lord loves you so much!!! I love you too!! Sí se puede!! You can do this!!!!
