I Have TWO Moms??

This week was my first transfer! I'm staying up here in Corning in the Olive Branch, but I have a new comp and my second mission mom, Hermana Tate! Hermana Tingey is going to the Sacramento mission, so I'm being split-trained and leading out our area, which is crazy!! It's been super fun so far. It's definitely going to make me think a lot harder about the friends we're teaching, but it's also awesome because we get to know a lot of them for the first time again since I've only been here for one transfer and Hermana Tate has never been in this area. We are going to grind these next 6 weeks!


(Backstory on Sacramento: There's a new mission being created--the Modesto mission--so surrounding missions have to send missionaries to Modesto and missions around the "feeder" missions, aka Sacramento, had to send missionaries there to even things out, so that's why Hna Tingey's getting shipped off to Sac haha)


I don't have much more to say about the week other than the hand of the Lord is real, heatwaves are no joke, Mexican moms WILL make you eat a second dinner, and make sure to check your baptismal fonts before any and all baptisms because cockroaches are a thing. PS We actually went to the temple last week but I completely forgot to include that in my last email, so here's my formal apology because the temple was amazing!!! We went to the Feather River temple and it was gorgeous!!! We got to do initiatories and an endowment session. I love the temple! The Spirit is so strong there, and I know that it is truly the house of the Lord. He invites all to become worthy to enter His house and experience the peace that is there and help others on the other side of the veil to have that eternal peace as well.


So if you haven't been to the temple recently, why not? If you can't go to the temple, do you want to? Striving to be temple-worthy is a goal that won't just benefit you spiritually, but it will bless you in every single other aspect of your life. I know this to be true because it's happened to me in my life, and I say this in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

Week 9 Area: Olive Branch Comp: Hna Tingey Tuesday Had some fire lessons, almost put two people on a date, and had cookie night with the Lequia's! Wednesday Went to district council! A Functional... Ward?

Week 50, Transfer 8 Area: Auburn (Auburn 2nd Ward) Compañera: Hermana Griffin Anyone who makes it to the end of this email deserves a fist bump in six months. Highlights: First week in Auburn! It is a crazy busy area! I asked my mission president for one thing this transfer—to go somewhere where I could just work. And boy, did I get my wish! Three people just got baptized recently and all got confirmed yesterday! The gift of the Holy Ghost is such a blessing! We made the goal to put seven people on date this transfer. Your prayers for the people in our area and for us would be much appreciated! The ward is so... put together here! Everyone just knows what to do and... does it? I never thought I'd be able to serve in a ward because after the mission split last summer, the only Spanish ward got put into the Sacramento boundaries. Week 52, Transfer 8 Area: Auburn (Auburn 2nd Ward) Compañera: Hermana Griffin Highlights, Lowlights, and Rollercoasters JOANA HAS A DATE FOR BAPTISM!!! Please keep praying for her; she's going to need some extra strength these next few weeks! Our friend Alex MOVED. She got notice two days in advance. She'll be gone for work training for 14 weeks, BUT she gets one call every Sunday, and since she doesn't have much family, she asked if we could call every week and have lessons over the phone. The missionary heart in me was SOOO HAPPY! She is the elect of the elect. PLEASE KEEP PRAYING FOR ALEX!! Had our first lesson with our friend Valentin!!! He had some crazy good questions.
