Highlights & miracles!

CARLOS IS GOING TO GET BAPTIZED! Long, long story short, his whole family was baptized except for him. He lives in Utah but is here for work for a little while. All his friends are members in Utah, he goes to church, he knows the church is true, and he wants to be baptized but has been scared of taking that step for years. Something changed for him this week, and he decided he's going to get baptized NEXT MONTH when he's with his family again. He told us this and proceeded to bear the most tender testimony I think I've ever heard about the truth of this gospel, how families can be together forever, and the peace it brings. Please pray for Carlos as he makes this next step to come closer to Christ!

We taught a couple of our friends how to pray this week, and they said their first prayer! (Either their first vocal prayer ever or the first in a long, long time.) It is so special to witness someone talking to their Heavenly Father for the first time, who loves them so much. Prayer is a powerful gift we have, so don't be afraid to utilize it. Pray for anything, anytime. God WILL hear you and answer you.

We got to meet one of Rosa's (a member) friends, Israel. He is very, very sick and wants to learn more about God. Rosa came with us as we shared a message of comfort and gave him a brand-new copy of el Libro de Mormón (the Book of Mormon). I don't think he's ever seen one before. I was able to hand it to him, and there was an indescribable amount of joy, hope, and yearning that filled his eyes as he grabbed it. This book really can change people's lives, and I think he started to realize that as we were there. I hope you all have the opportunity to come to realize that too one day! The Elders went the next day to start teaching him about the joy we can find through Christ and gave him a priesthood blessing. Please pray for Israel!

Had enchiladas michoacanas for the first time, and oh, they were so good. Hermana Hernandez for the win!

Go follow our mission's Spanish page, "Seguir a Cristo," on Facebook! We're about to start a really fun challenge to help spread the light of Christ!

Spiritual thought
Follow the Spirit and use it to share kindness
We had to return something to a member this week, and as we were leaving, she said, "Hold on, I have something for you girls." She went to her garage and came back with paper towels and like three boxes of chips. She told us that at the store, she had the thought to get extra of some things. She thought it was strange but did it anyway. The paper towels ended up being VERY necessary this week for a couple of reasons, and the chips just brightened our day. Yes, those are frivolous things, but you never know when a thought you have might put a smile on someone else’s face or when they can use it to brighten someone else’s day too! Kindness is always a chain.

Have the best week! Send me a message if there is anyone I can pray for or anything I can do for you! I love you all—keep being awesome!

Con amor,
Hermana Ellis
