Highlights & miracles!
Hermana Horton (a Hermana we live with) started feeling pretty awful this week and ended up testing positive for covid... Hermana Leatherwood also had some nasty sickness of some other sort going on, so there was a little less proselytizing going on than normal haha. But Hermana Leatherwood was a trooper, and we were able to do a lot of social media work for the mission's page and get some things planned and rolling there, so it was a tender mercy that we had the extra time!
Had a FIESTAAA! Our branch put on a multicultural fiesta, and everyone brought their favorite dish from their country. We helped one of our friends make a dish (this barbacoa taco meat, SO GOOD), and she came with her husband and 2 daughters!! Our other friend Juan also pulled up and had a blast.
Went to the temple!!!! We were not planning on going the day we did, but it ended up being so cool. We got to go to the Spanish session, and I saw some members from Corning there, which made my heart happy :))
Go check out our Facebook page, Seguir a Cristo, and go tag your friends on the post from Thursday to help spread God's love to your friends!!!
Spiritual thought
Matthew 25
Jesus gave a parable about "the 10 virgins." These were 10 women said to be waiting for the bridegroom. It was dark, and light was needed. 5 of the women had enough oil in their lamps, but the other 5 did not. They had not prepared beforehand to get what was needed.
Matthew 25:10 - "And while they [the 5 who were unprepared] went to buy [more oil after theirs had run out], the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut."
We know not when the Bridegroom (Christ) will come again literally OR when we will need to be ready to get up and go to be His hands and feet on His errand to help someone else. You never know when God may use you to answer someone else's prayer.
Do whatever is necessary to prepare yourself. And to be prepared for the ultimate goal: to stand worthily before God at the last day. :)
Con amor,
Hermana Ellis
