Week 38, Transfer 6 Area: Yuba City (Tierra Buena Branch) Compañera: Hermana Park HAPPY THANKSGIVING THIS WEEK! This week, take some time to write down 5 things you're grateful for or to give thanks in prayer. Crazy week this week in Yuba. Let's roll the highlight reel! Highlights  Met a lot of animals this week. Helped a lady try to find her cat Peachy, met the fluffiest husky dog known to man, pet some goats... good week. MIRACLES upon MIRACLES upon MIRACLES! Went to the temple for the endowment of one of Hermana Park's friends from Lincoln! So special to be in the temple so soon again. So much peace from such a holy place.  Made tres leches with our member Lupita before transfers! Ate a goodbye breakfast with the Ramirez family on Wednesday (transfer day) before Hna Leatherwood, Hna Horton, and Elder Gardner left. It was the same kind of breakfast my family makes when we do special family breakfasts with all the fixings. I got to help cook some of it, and it just filled ...

I'm Gonna Be AP! (Definitely Clickbait :)

Week 37, Transfer 5 Area: Yuba City (Tierra Buena Branch) Compañera: Hermana Park Highlights Transfer news came yesterday! I'm staying in Yuba with Hermana Park for a second transfer! Super stoked. I love these people and this area with my whole heart! It's coming in close to Corning. Junior's baptism is coming up! He's doing amazing, but please, please keep praying for him that he'll continue. Facebook miracle! I texted a lady about family history (who was actually not random at all). She responded very quickly and said her husband is looking into other religions. We invited them to church. They couldn’t make it but texted 10 minutes before church ended that they were on their way. So, we ended up having a lesson at the church with Hermano y Hermana Hernandez. So many tiny miracles led up to this lesson and spiritual promptings that were a testament of how intimately God knows each of His children's situations and needs! Long story short, we gave them a Libro d...

Week 36, Transfer 5 Area: Yuba City (Tierra Buena Branch) Compañera: Hermana Park Highlights Three friends at church this Sunday! Still no car. Lots of walking and lots of new friends found! I honestly have loved how much walking we've done. In a car, it's harder to pull over for every person on every road and knock on every door. But when you walk everywhere, it is so easy to talk to EVERYBODY, even if it's just a simple "hi!" and a smile on the sidewalk. It's definitely helped us to be more bold and will help us be more bold when we do have a car! I see lots of drive-up, out-the-window conversations in our future. Please keep praying for Junior! He's on date to be baptized on December 7th and is doing absolutely amazing! Guys, the change people experience by coming closer to Jesus Christ is so, so 110% real. There is a light that comes. Día De Los Muertossss

Week 35, Transfer 5 Area: Yuba City (Tierra Buena Branch) Compañera: Hermana Park Highlights Junior came to church for the FIRST TIME! He loved it and then came to lunch at a member's house with all 10 missionaries in the branch afterward. Solid member lesson/homie session. We had our Día de los Muertos party this week! The missionaries put it on (and by "the missionaries," I mean the other hermanas. They are AMAZING!) We worked hard inviting people to this party. So many of our friends came! We watched Coco and talked about family history, had a grito contest, and ate a very American dinner. Found a super sweet girl while walking down the street and a guy in a trailer park this weekend! Super excited to have return lessons with them. Went to the Sikh festival! It was super cool to experience another culture. It 100% felt like I was not in the U.S. It was very disorienting because we don't speak the language or understand the culture very well, but it was amazing to l...
