Week 38, Transfer 6
Area: Yuba City (Tierra Buena Branch)
Compañera: Hermana Park
HAPPY THANKSGIVING THIS WEEK! This week, take some time to write down 5 things you're grateful for or to give thanks in prayer.
Crazy week this week in Yuba. Let's roll the highlight reel!
Highlights
Met a lot of animals this week. Helped a lady try to find her cat Peachy, met the fluffiest husky dog known to man, pet some goats... good week.
MIRACLES upon MIRACLES upon MIRACLES!
Went to the temple for the endowment of one of Hermana Park's friends from Lincoln! So special to be in the temple so soon again. So much peace from such a holy place.
Made tres leches with our member Lupita before transfers!
Ate a goodbye breakfast with the Ramirez family on Wednesday (transfer day) before Hna Leatherwood, Hna Horton, and Elder Gardner left. It was the same kind of breakfast my family makes when we do special family breakfasts with all the fixings. I got to help cook some of it, and it just filled my heart that day! Tender mercy for sure.
Not really a highlight, but Hermana Park got a concussion from soccer after English class on Friday. Sooo, nice little ER trip the other day, and now we're on a 4-day stay-in-the-house mandate... please pray for Hermana Park!
SO. MUCH. RAIN THIS WEEK! The west coast has been seeing the effects of a bomb cyclone, which basically just means torrential downpour for 3 days straight. :) Very grateful for a car right now, haha. It's honestly been fun, and we've met some seriously cool people from knocking in the rain.
Spiritual thought
From the talk "And Nothing Shall Offend Them" by Elder David A. Bednar, October 2006 General Conference:
"As described by Elder Neal A. Maxwell, the Church is not 'a well-provisioned rest home for the already perfected...' Rather, the Church is a learning laboratory and a workshop in which we gain experience as we practice on each other in the ongoing process of 'perfecting the Saints.'"
You're doing amazing things. Keep being awesome!
