Who Is "Gracias"-ing Us?

Week 40, Transfer 6
Area: Yuba City (Tierra Buena Branch)
Compañera: Hermana Park

Highlights

Had a super interesting conversation about missionaries and Utah's economy that turned into an hour-long lesson.

Had about eight lessons with members planned this week... all of them canceled except one. Then, we had an impromptu lesson with one of our members when we asked Hermana Quintero 20 minutes before the lesson. She's phenomenal.

Junior's baptism is in less than one week! He is so ready and so excited. We had a lesson with him on Sunday, and when he walked into the room, he was glowing. Keep him in your prayers, please!

Hermana Park and I hit nine months this week! We got Coldstone to celebrate (Nita, I thought of you!). Can't wait to go full steam ahead for the next nine months.

Spiritual Thought
Alma 26:22
"Yea, he that repenteth and exerciseth faith, and bringeth forth good works, and prayeth continually without ceasing—unto such it is given to know the mysteries of God; yea, unto such it shall be given to reveal things which never have been revealed; yea, and it shall be given unto such to bring thousands of souls to repentance, even as it has been given unto us to bring these our brethren to repentance."

I found this scripture the day we hit halfway—278 days out, 278 days left. Ammon gives four things to do and three promises if we do them. My invitation is for you to pick out what they each are (to-dos and promised blessings) and then choose one thing to do. Genuinely, truly, and with the entirety of your heart and all the energy of your soul, turn your heart a tiny bit closer to the Lord this week.

All we can do is our best, but I promise you miracles as you strive to do so every day and genuinely want to see them.

You all are amazing. Hasta luego y recuerden que Dios les ama,
Hermana Ellis

Notable Quotes:

Hermana Park: "I'm not angry; I'm just forcefully preaching."

Hermana Park: "Who is 'gracias'-ing us?"

Hermana Genzer: "Are you a trust fund baby?"
Elder Greer: "What does that mean?"
Hermana Genzer: "Do you have a lot of money? Will you get the inheritance?"
Elder Greer: "No, we used the money to buy a pizza oven. It was ironic because my grandpa was cremated, so we thought it would be funny."

Elder Peterson (when he had the flu): "If someone steals the medicine, I'll go cough on them."
