7 People On Date For Baptism

Image
Week 56, Transfer 9 Area: Auburn (Auburn 2nd Ward & Spanish group!!!) Compañera: Hermana Griffin Not much time to write an email today once again, but I wanted to share a short miracle from this week - As Hermana Griffin and I were making goals for this transfer, we were looking back at past transfers' numbers and goals and realized something amazing. Last transfer we set our goal to have 7 people on date for baptism. Originally it was lower — around 3 or 4. But after a final prayer during a zone meeting about our transfer goals, we felt very impressed to set the goal to 7. Fast forward. Only 2 of our friends had official dates throughout last transfer (which is still awesome!), but nowhere in any of our records did we see the number 7. We knew we worked hard though and that God worked harder and trusted in His plan. As we were looking at past transfer goals, Hermana Griffin had the idea to make a list of all the friends we are teaching who said YES to baptism this transfer, ei...

Seek And Expect Miracles

Week 55, Transfer 8 Area: Auburn (Auburn 2nd Ward) Compañera: Hermana Griffin Transfer news came — I'm staying in Auburn with the one and only Hermana Griffin! This email will be short, but I know the Savior lives and He guides this work. It is of eternal importance. Miracles happen daily. Some are small, some are huge, some are right in front of our faces, and some are hard to notice in the midst of feeling overwhelmed, unnoticed, and beaten down during trials, but miracles are real!! The Lord is working every day in the hearts of our friends to soften their hearts and help us turn to the Savior (Who is the only person through which we can receive eternal JOY and live with our families in a perfect, exalted state for eternity.) President Russell M. Nelson has taught us: "Seek and expect miracles. Moroni assured us that 'God has not ceased to be a God of miracles.' Every book of scripture demonstrates how willing the Lord is to intervene in the lives of those who belie...

MY Jesus :)

Week 54, Transfer 8 Area: Auburn (Auburn 2nd Ward) Compañera: Hermana Griffin Highlights & Rollercoasters  I forgot to put this in last week, but we were able to go to the temple last Saturday!! So cool to do a session in Spanish. As I was sitting in the session, I realized that I genuinely felt as if there was no weight on my shoulders while I was there. And I know that can happen for you too! Make time to go to the temple this week!!  Had an EPIC Zone Conference. The third great-grandson of Joseph Smith (and the first Melchizedek Priesthood holder in the family line since Joseph Smith, which was a fulfillment of prophecy!!!) and his wife came and spoke. The Kennedys bore powerful testimony of the Prophet Joseph Smith and the goodness of God.  Spiritual Thought  2 Nephi 33:6 "I glory in plainness; I glory in truth; I glory in my Jesus, for he hath redeemed my soul from hell." Another major topic of Zone Conference was Jesus Christ (as it should be). A handful of...

God Is In The Details... And The Car Crashes :)

Week 53, Transfer 8 Area: Auburn (Auburn 2nd Ward) Compañera: Hermana Griffin Highlights, lowlights, and rollercoasters Met a member because we had the wrong address for another member, but she wants her records moved here and to come to church here!! No accidents, man. Got in my first car crash??? Check that off the "hope I never do that" bucket list. Nothing more than minor scratches on the rear bumper & no injuries to either party, just a nice little love tap from a very fast car behind us. Lowkey was divine intervention on multiple levels though, especially since we were able to comfort and share Christ's love and a prayer with a very new driver. Joana will not be getting baptized on Saturday unless a miracle happens. She still wants to be baptized so badly though, so please pray for her and her family!! Ate some fire food this week. @Judd, you better be practicing your BBQ skills. Met the COOLEST new guy because we're able to knock after 7 PM NOW BECAUSE IT...

Week 52, Transfer 8 Area: Auburn (Auburn 2nd Ward) Compañera: Hermana Griffin Highlights, Lowlights, and Rollercoasters JOANA HAS A DATE FOR BAPTISM!!! Please keep praying for her; she's going to need some extra strength these next few weeks! Our friend Alex MOVED. She got notice two days in advance. She'll be gone for work training for 14 weeks, BUT she gets one call every Sunday, and since she doesn't have much family, she asked if we could call every week and have lessons over the phone. The missionary heart in me was SOOO HAPPY! She is the elect of the elect. PLEASE KEEP PRAYING FOR ALEX!! Had our first lesson with our friend Valentin!!! He had some crazy good questions. He wanted to know the differences between our church and his church, and we were able to testify so strongly of prophets and apostles, eternal families, life after death, the spirit world, and the three kingdoms. At the end, he asked us, lowkey out of the blue, "Why are there so many churches, and ...
