7 People On Date For Baptism
Week 56, Transfer 9
Area: Auburn (Auburn 2nd Ward & Spanish group!!!)
Compañera: Hermana Griffin
Not much time to write an email today once again, but I wanted to share a short miracle from this week -
As Hermana Griffin and I were making goals for this transfer, we were looking back at past transfers' numbers and goals and realized something amazing. Last transfer we set our goal to have 7 people on date for baptism. Originally it was lower — around 3 or 4. But after a final prayer during a zone meeting about our transfer goals, we felt very impressed to set the goal to 7.
Fast forward. Only 2 of our friends had official dates throughout last transfer (which is still awesome!), but nowhere in any of our records did we see the number 7. We knew we worked hard though and that God worked harder and trusted in His plan.
As we were looking at past transfer goals, Hermana Griffin had the idea to make a list of all the friends we are teaching who said YES to baptism this transfer, either to an official date or eventually. The number of people? Seven.
How incredible is it that 7 more of God's children learned more about baptism, learned more about His Son Jesus Christ, and began to strengthen and nourish their testimonies? The answer is INCREDIBLE!!!!
Although not all 7 of these incredible souls accepted an "official" baptismal date, the Lord's hand was in every step of their journey. He knew the hearts of the people we were teaching and He knew the people we would find/get to know better this transfer. He knew their hearts when we didn't have the ability to. He knew what they were capable of.
Moral of the story: trust in the Lord. When all you can see is 3 or 4 people on date (or whatever your circumstance/limited sight is), pray about it sincerely, with all energy of your heart. You and your situation may be capable of more. And if the Lord tells you to, then set your sights higher according to the tiny whispers and impressions you receive!
Moroni 7:48
"Wherefore, my beloved brethren, pray unto the Father with all the energy of heart, that ye may be filled with this love, which he hath bestowed upon all who are true followers of his Son, Jesus Christ; that ye may become the sons of God; that when he shall appear we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is; that we may have this hope; that we may be purified even as he is pure. Amen."
Go spread God's love and the light of Jesus Christ this week. They love YOU!
