God Is Cooking!!

Week 59, Transfer 9 Area: Auburn (Auburn 2nd Ward & Spanish group!!!) Compañera: Hermana Griffin This week was INSANE! God is cooking. Talked to EVERYONE and their MOM (literally) this week because it's getting darker later (so we can be outside for longer!!!) and the weather is better so people are spending more time outside. This, some new finding methods, epic referrals from the English missionaries, and LOTS of Heavenly help led us to find 7 new friends to teach this week AND almost the same amount of people who are interested in meeting with us as we have number of people we're currently actively teaching!! Our members here are AMAZING. We had 6 lessons where members participated. They always bring such a good spirit, insights, and experiences that we as 20-year-old missionaries oftentimes just can't relate to that ultimately help our friends a ton. Found an epic guy named Jorge who told us he wants us to come back and teach his ENTIRE family (him, his wife, his 4 ...

A Window Into Heaven :)

Week 59, Transfer 9 Area: Auburn (Auburn 2nd Ward & Spanish group!!!) Compañera: Hermana Griffin Happy happy Easter everyone! I hope celebrating the resurrection of our Savior Jesus Christ this year was a powerful reminder of God's love for YOU. We had zone conference this week with a member of the Seventy—Elder Peter M. Johnson, go listen to his talk from April 2019 General Conference!—who came and spoke to us! Such a powerful experience and incredible to be taught by the Spirit through a called representative of Jesus Christ. We were able to go to the Sacramento temple this past Saturday with our Spanish group from the ward and something super cool happened! Our group was small and there was only one member who could baptize and one other member who could do the confirmations. So Raymond, one of our recent converts(!!), baptized the group of us for over 20 family members, and Juan did all of the confirmations. I was the last to get baptized and the last to come out of the dre...

Follow The Spirit To Find The Souls To Save

Week 58, Transfer 9 Area: Auburn (Auburn 2nd Ward & Spanish group!!!) Compañera: Hermana Griffin This week has been a wild ride. I don't have much to offer this week other than God is in the details, a short story, and a scripture. Yesterday we were going knocking. We pulled up to the street we'd previously chosen, but both felt like there was somewhere else we needed to be and like there was someone specific we needed to find. So we said a prayer for guidance and started driving. Talked to some people along the way and kept driving. Said another prayer. Talked to more people on the way. We simply drove and turned where we felt like we should. We ended up in a neighborhood at the end of a cul-de-sac and knocked around, solely finding people who spoke English and weren't super interested. We were able to have some cool conversations though and spread a little bit of light, attempted church invites, and Family History Fair flyers amidst the very kindly slammed doors with ...

Thanks For Caring Enough To Save My Soul

Week 57, Transfer 9 Area: Auburn (Auburn 2nd Ward & Spanish group!!!) Compañera: Hermana Griffin We had a really cool interaction this week. We'll call him John. We saw John outside after trying to visit one of our friends who wasn’t home. I saw him outside, but we started walking to the car instead. Halfway to the car, I realized we needed to turn around. Long story short, John has died before. He told us that after he died, he was in a period of waiting. He basically described it as a grey/one area where he didn't know what he was waiting for, but he knew that whatever it was was so incredible that he would've waited a million years for whatever it was. John was waiting for the gospel. We were able to testify of eternal truths and of hope. He may have been skeptical that an answer could've come so easily, but we left him with a lot to consider and a pamphlet about the Plan of Salvation. As we left, hoping the Spirit and something we said touched his heart, we told...
